Who can participate in the Hackathon?

Participation is open to students currently enrolled in a recognized college or university in India. Every registered team member must upload a valid college/university ID for eligibility verification. Submitting an ID for only the Team Leader is not sufficient.

Is participation in the Hackathon free?

Yes. Participation in Cyber Hackathon 2026 is completely free of charge. There are no registration or entry fees. You only need your own computer, webcam, microphone, and a reliable internet connection.

How many members can a team have, and how do we register?

Each team must consist of 3-4 members, including one designated Team Leader. To register, teams must create an account on the portal and verify their email addresses, choose a unique team name, and ensure that every member’s profile is completed, upload their College ID, and provide their GitHub handle. Teams are also encouraged to include at least one female member.

Can I join more than one team?

No. Each participant may only join one team, and each team may only select one problem statement. Make sure to agree on your teammates and problem statement before confirming your selection on the portal.

When does registration open and close?

Registration opens on 12 October 2026 and closes on 26 October 2026. Please complete registration and project submission before the deadline, as late entries will not be accepted.

When can we start working on our solution?

You can begin developing your solution during the hackathon submission window, from 12 October to 26 October 2026, after selecting an official problem statement from the portal.

Are there restrictions on the technology stack we can use?

No, You are free to choose the languages, libraries, frameworks, and tools that best fit your problem statement. Always check your chosen problem statement for any specific functional requirements or constraints.

How should we set up and manage our GitHub repository?

The designated team leader must create a private GitHub repository named after the team and invite all team members as collaborators. Teams must commit their code iteratively throughout the development period. A single final code dump or uploading code only at the last minute is strictly prohibited and serves as grounds for disqualification.

What is the deadline for code submission, and can we push changes later?

All source code and project assets must be committed by 26 October 2026. Treat this rule strictly: any code commit made after 26 October 2026 will lead to disqualification. No modifications are permitted post-deadline.

What are the requirements for the solution video?

Your video must be 8-10 minutes long, with a maximum duration of 10 minutes. It should clearly explain the chosen problem statement, the proposed solution and its key features, the technology stack and implementation process, and include a live demonstration of the working application. The video must have a clear voice-over; showing faces is optional, and a clean screen recording is sufficient.

How do we submit the solution video?

Upload your video to your team's Google Drive, set link access permissions to Viewer for hackathonccsubihar[at]gmail[dot]com, and submit the shareable URL through the official Hackathon portal before the 26 October 2026 deadline. Ensure the link is verified and accessible.

How will we evaluate your submissions?

Our evaluation panel will review your solution videos, considering the relevance of your solution to the selected problem statement, innovation, technical implementation, functionality, and quality of presentation. A total of 25 teams will be shortlisted for the final round.

When will the shortlist be announced, and what happens next?

The shortlisted teams will be officially announced on the portal on 20 November 2026. Prior to the Grand Final, all shortlisted teams must transfer repository ownership to the organizers for deep code and audit inspection. We will share the detailed transfer procedure, designated account or organization, and timeline directly with the selected teams.

When and how will the Grand Final take place?

The Grand Final is scheduled for 27 November 2026 and will be conducted entirely online. We will share any specific participation requirements with the shortlisted teams.

What should teams expect during the Grand Final evaluation?

The final round will be evaluated strictly based on the codebase committed before the 26 October deadline. Teams must demonstrate their live application, justify their architectural choices, explain the data flow and code implementation, and respond to questions from the judges and code audits. They must also run tests using alternate datasets provided by the judges on the spot. All team members are required to participate actively and explain their individual contributions to the project.

What hardware and connectivity setup is required?

Participants need a computer capable of running their software stack, a functional webcam, microphone, and a stable internet connection.

What timezone applies to all dates and deadlines?

Every posted schedule, milestone, deadline, and event runs on Indian Standard Time (IST, UTC+5:30).
